alicetek's ANTIVIRTUAL Project Case #001: THE GHOST IN THE SHELL Bodysuit
With the new THE GHOST IN THE SHELL anime series set to premiere on July 7, 2026, alicetek is launching the first installment of its ANTIVIRTUAL Project as a tribute to the franchise and in celebration of its new beginning.
For this inaugural project, we will attempt to bring into physical form the iconic orange bodysuit featured in the key visual of the new anime series. The costume also appears in Episode 02 of Masamune Shirow’s original manga, making it one of the recognizable designs associated with the work.
Through this project, we explore how faithfully a two-dimensional costume design can be translated into a real, wearable garment. The development process—from design interpretation and pattern making to material selection and construction—will be documented and shared as the project progresses toward completion.
